| Abstract: | Discusses future steps in development of ecosystem-based management procedure for Southern Ocean fishing, and examines gaps in existing approach to achieving conservation objectives for predators. Summarises background to current approaches to modelling Antarctic marine ecosystem, and presents general framework for ecosystem monitoring in support of management procedure, with particular reference to scale of krill fishery. Discusses example management procedures for krill fisheries, and presents work plan for development of ecosystem-based management procedure. |
