| Abstract: | Uses high resolution continuous seismic-reflection profiling data in investigating morphology of glacial deposits under north-central Baltic Sea. Bedrock topography obviously influenced their structure and distribution, directing glacier flows and subglacial meltwater flows into bedrock depressions. Suggests floating, ice-shelf type of glacier existed in Fårö Deep during deglaciation. Ice -marginal deposition took place along grounding line, and together with local outwash fans probably correlates with ice-marginal deposits in Estonia and Levene moraine in Sweden. Variety of deposits show changes in thickness and dynamics of retreating ice sheet well. |
