Record #161721:
Synchronization of animal population dynamics by large-scale climate / Eric Post, Mads C. Forchhammer.
Title: | Synchronization of animal population dynamics by large-scale climate / Eric Post, Mads C. Forchhammer. |
Author(s): | Post, Eric. Forchhammer, Mads C. |
Date: | 2002. |
In: | Nature. (2002.), Vol. 420(6912) (2002) |
Abstract: | Dynamics of populations on opposite coasts of Greenland show spatial synchrony that correlates with North Atlantic Oscillation index. NAO has influence in cross-species synchrony between pairs of caribou and muskoxen populations separated by 1000 km of inland ice. |
Notes: | Nature. Vol. 420(6912) :168-171 (2002). |
Keywords: | 551.58 -- Climatology. 591.55 -- Animals, social organization. H6 -- Zoology: mammals. (*3) -- Arctic regions. (*38) -- Greenland. |
