Abstract: Examines financial, material and political assistance provided to Rasmussen by Hudson's Bay Company, in return for which King Christian X of Denmark bestowed Knight's Cross of the Order of the Danebrog upon HBC Governor. Canadian government feared that Rasmussen intended to promote Danish claims to parts of Arctic Canada.
