| Abstract: | Presents results of expedition carried out in Ob' and Yenisey estuaries of Kara Sea in August-September 2001. Studies of biological, geochemical and geological processes were carried out with view to understand freshwater and sediment input by Siberian rivers and impact on environment of Kara Sea. Expedition included scientists from SIRRO group and also from EU Copernicus project ESTABLISH (Estuarine Specific Transport and Biogeochemically Linked Interactions for Selected Heavy metals and radionuclides). ESTABLISH focused on marine-freshwater interface in Yenisey Estuary in connection with modelling of transport of contaminants from inland to open sea. |
