Record #161460:

Modelling of the seasonal ice cover of the Baltic Sea / Jari Haapala.

Title: Modelling of the seasonal ice cover of the Baltic Sea / Jari Haapala.
Author(s): Haapala, Jari.
Date: 2000.
In: University of Helsinki. Department of Geophysics. Report Series in Geophysics. (2000.), Vol. 42 (2000)
Abstract: Thesis based on four published papers from Journal of Glaciology, Tellus and Boreal Environment Research, giving physical description and numerical investigation of seasonal Baltic Sea ice conditions. Ice conditions vary in the Baltic, and do not show clear trends. Describes model which allows separation of thermally and mechanically produced ice and calculation of exchange of heat and momentum between atmosphere-ice-ocean interface. Model could produce main characteristics of ice season.
