Abstract: Effects were quantified and normalized in colour infrared (CIR) for three areas in northern Finland with different vegetation types. Brightness variations of most typical type were quantified by examining change of mean digital number (DN) values on three wave bands. Correlations between DN and scattering angles of reference areas were taken into account. Normalization improved accuracy in every case. (Figs. 1 & 2 are transposed)
