Abstract: Defines four SNOWPACK (model) microstructure parameters: grain size, bond size, dendricity and sphericity and develops rate equations for these parameters. Establishes link to conventional grain types and links parameters to viscosity and thermal conductivity, of which bond size is most important parameter.
