Record #161157:

Natural and anthropogenic heavy metal deposition to the snow in King George Island, Antarctic Peninsula / Sungmin Hong, Albert Lluberas, Gangwoong Lee, Jun Kun Park.

Title: Natural and anthropogenic heavy metal deposition to the snow in King George Island, Antarctic Peninsula / Sungmin Hong, Albert Lluberas, Gangwoong Lee, Jun Kun Park.
Author(s): Hong, Sungmin.
Lluberas, Albert.
Lee, Gangwoong.
Park, Jun Kun.
Date: 2002.
In: Ocean and Polar Research. (2002.), Vol. 24(3) (2002)
Abstract: Analyses 24 snow samples from summit of Main Dome, King George Island, South Shetland Islands, and compares data for lead, cadmium, copper and zinc with other Antarctic sites. Zinc and copper levels were significantly higher for King George Island. Sea salt spray was found to be major contributor to Cd and Zn inputs, and more than half of excess Pb flux to snow was anthropogenic.
