Abstract: | Studies nine species of leaf-galling sawfly (order hymenoptera) living on ten willow species in Russian Arctic tundra (Yamal and Kanin peninsulae, Ostrov Kolguyeva, Pechora Zaliv and Kola Peninsula). Examines hypothesis that biotic, rather than abiotic, factors are more important in determining abundance of populations of herbivorous insects in harsh environments. |
