Abstract: | Deals with two central questions for Greenland economy: why has not tourism enterprise made itself profitable? and: is it possible to alter this fact? Both are important, as local resources are almost exclusively shrimp and some few species of fish - good types, but not enough to support economy. Therefore, Home Rule Government set out 10 years before to develop minerals and tourism. Chapters include introductions, tourism structure, destination development, tourism in Canadian Arctic, evaluation of total Greenland tourist project, "outfitter" concept and role, analysis of organisation of public and private interests in Greenland Tourism's activity, tourism and strategy. |
