Record #159888:

Entwicklung und Anwendung eines Laserablations-ICP-MS-Verfahrens zur Multielementanalyse von atmosphärischen Einträgen in Eisbohrkernen / Heiko Reinhardt.

Title: Entwicklung und Anwendung eines Laserablations-ICP-MS-Verfahrens zur Multielementanalyse von atmosphärischen Einträgen in Eisbohrkernen / Heiko Reinhardt.
Translated title: Development and application of a Laserablation ICP-MS-technique for multielement analysis of atmospheric deposition in ice cores.
Author(s): Reinhardt, Heiko.
Date: 2002.
Language: German.
In: Berichte zur Polar- und Meeresforschung = Reports on Polar and Marine Research. (2002.), Vol. 414 (2002)
Abstract: Describes development of new method for ice core analysis, LA-ICP-MS system (Laserablation Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry), detecting elements at minute trace level and so admitting low risk of contamination. Samples are taken at -40° C, ablating material from solid ice, with aerosol placed in an inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometer where ionisation with subsequent detection occurs. Deviation of calibration curves compared with standard reference values is plus or minus 10%. Core samples from Greenland show seasonal variations of deposition. Data from solution analysis agrees well for many determined elements.
