Record #159740:

Ice-wedge polygons and solifluction in the Adventdalen area, Spitsbergen, Svalbard / L. Sorbel, J. Tolgensbakk.

Title: Ice-wedge polygons and solifluction in the Adventdalen area, Spitsbergen, Svalbard / L. Sorbel, J. Tolgensbakk.
Author(s): Sorbel, L.
Tolgensbakk, J.
Date: 2002.
In: Norsk Geografisk Tidsskrift. (2002.), Vol. 56(2) (2002)
Abstract: Interprets areas of ice-wedge polygons around Adventdalen, Spitsbergen, found up to 500 m a.s.l. Assumes higher polygons may be older than Weichselian. Slopes of at least 25° produce most polygons. Where there are undisturbed polygon patterns, solifluction lobes are absent and show little movement; in solifluction lobes movement may be 4 cm a year.
Notes:
