Abstract: Describes use of TEXAM pressuremeter in investigating short-term mechanical behaviour of frozen soils along Qinghai-Tibet Highway, China. Though useful, method needs improvement of testing equipment and also that theoretical basis of test interpretation methods should include actual behaviour of frozen soil.
