Abstract: Corralled deer start milling under stress, possibly as anti-predator measure. 32 of 35 Norwegian districts found it to be anti-clockwise. Free- ranging deer showed no preference during grazing or browsing, but in corrals they went anti-. Cratering snow for fodder, left leg was preferred. In 23 of 35 deer, right brain hemisphere was greater, but not significantly. Other factors that may affect sense of milling, including learning,zz are discussed.
