Abstract: Snow samples taken in Siorapaluk, north-western Greenland November 1997 to May 1998 showed contrasts in climate and chemical composition of snowfall between winter and spring. Winter precipitation was low, with more wind from north-east over high ice sheet, but in spring precipitation increased along with chemical constituents, which may be result of anticyclone from centre of Greenland moving north in spring.
