| Abstract: | Examines atmospheric effects on GPS measurements, with particular reference to Antarctic coastal stations. Describes peculiarities of determination of zenith tropospheric delay, including values of dry and wet components obtained by integration of average monthly radiosonde data from Vostok, Mirnyy and Akademik Vernads'kyy stations in Antarctica, and Heys Isle station in Arctic. Evaluates accuracy of Saastamoinen and Hopfield models in determining zenith tropospheric delay, and proposes improvements. |
