Record #159258:

Lapin jääkauden jälkeisten ilmastonmuutosten rekonstruktiot / Heikki Seppä.

Title: Lapin jääkauden jälkeisten ilmastonmuutosten rekonstruktiot / Heikki Seppä.
Translated title: Reconstructing the post-glacial climatic changes in Lapland.
Author(s): Seppä, Heikki.
Date: 2001.
Language: Finnish.
In: Terra. (2001.), Vol. 113(3) (2001)
Abstract: Different time scales and methods give different aspects of climate history. Pollen-based ones suggest that early Holocene was maritime in character, with mild temperatures and high precipitation. Summer reached high point c. 6000-4500 BC, being average of 1.6-2.2 deg.C warmer than now, followed by gradual cooling. Independent methods, especially from Greenland ice cores, support general reconstructed trend. Possible short-term events are discussed. Cooler periods were at least c. 9300 BC and during Little Ice Age (800-300 yr ago). Cyclic cold events are unproven.
