| Abstract: | Combines data from various sources, as well as field data, on location and morphology of permafrost in islands Izvestiya TsIK, Sverdrup, Nordenskjold archipelago (Kara Sea) and Preobrazhenye (Laptev Sea). Describes types of ground ice leading to current position of coastline. Ice studied is dated to Late Pleistocene and Holocene; Late Pleistocene ice wedges indicate there was no great ice sheet north of Taymyr Peninsula in Late Würm age. |
