Abstract: | Describes young Greenlanders' feelings about Denmark 20 years after Home Rule / Research shows high concentrations of pollutants in East Greenlanders' blood - not directly serious, but posing cancer and immunity problems in future / Warm springs on Disko Island may hold valuable enzymes / Successful effort at last shows island to be one unit / Lauge Koch in 1938 flew to find islands off Greenland's north coast, but missed Tobias Island / Debate on warm mediaeval period and Little Ice Age has swung to and fro, but new ice core confirms these / Biologists have proved Inglefield Land deer to be specialised for hard winters / Examples of lavish waste show that Inuit of Greenland are not PC, and live quite out of balance with Nature. |
