| Abstract: | Continues report of study in 1997 31(3) issue. Classes are 1-year and over 3-year bucks. Study includes question of how many bucks are needed to cover does. Saami keep traditional balance of classes, but project sought data on role of large bucks during rut, their reproductive success and effect on production. Study groups were separated for rut, one having only small bucks, t the other mixed. Study ran two years, yielding 4 groups. Tables give body weights and reproductive data. |
