Abstract: Examines conceptual implication of acculturationist and adaptionist perspectives of Inuit as opposed paradigms of Inuit identity. Suggests that these concepts are generally used in misplaced opposition to each other and that these conceptual references only assume functional meaning when considered in context of who is applying them and under what circumstances.
