Record #158161:
Model tuning and its impact on modelled climate change response: Hudson Bay sea ice, a case study / William A. Gough.
Title: | Model tuning and its impact on modelled climate change response: Hudson Bay sea ice, a case study / William A. Gough. |
Author(s): | Gough, William A. |
Date: | 2001. |
In: | Canadian Geographer. (2001.), Vol. 45(2) (2001) |
Abstract: | Makes case study of Hudson Bay sea ice to examine impact of climate model parameterization. Uses one-dimensional proxy model with atmospheric, cryospheric and oceanic components to distinguish pairs of values for thermal conductivity of sea ice and thermal diffusivity of sea water, reproducing present climatology of sea ice thickness in Hudson Bay. Employs these values in 3°C warming scenario that shows ice thicknesses are highly dependent on choice of these pairs as well as seasonal distribution of warming. |
