Record #157970:

U-Pb radiometric age of Nunarsuit pegmatite, Greenland: constraints on the timing of Gardar magmatism / Adrian A. Finch, Joakim Mansfeld, Tom Andersen.

Title: U-Pb radiometric age of Nunarsuit pegmatite, Greenland: constraints on the timing of Gardar magmatism / Adrian A. Finch, Joakim Mansfeld, Tom Andersen.
Author(s): Finch, Adrian A.
Mansfeld, Joakim.
Andersen, Tom.
Date: 2001.
In: Geological Society of Denmark. Bulletin. (2001.), Vol. 48(1) (2001)
Abstract: Precise date of 1171 +-5 Ma was obtained from zircons in Gardar Province, South Greenland. Age is slightly greater than corresponding Rb-Sr isochron. Since Nunarsuit is believed to be among youngest Gardar centres, this radiometric date more closely delimits end of magmatism in this rift province. Data comparison suggests magmatism was continuous rather than punctuated.
