Record #157956:

Diagenetic origin of carbonate in the Marhøgda Bed (Jurassic) in Spitsbergen, Svalbard / Krzysztof Krajewski, Boźena Łącka, Michał Kuźniarski, Ryszard Orłowski, Andrzej Prejbisz.

Title: Diagenetic origin of carbonate in the Marhøgda Bed (Jurassic) in Spitsbergen, Svalbard / Krzysztof Krajewski, Boźena Łącka, Michał Kuźniarski, Ryszard Orłowski, Andrzej Prejbisz.
Author(s): Krajewski, Krzysztof.
Łącka, Boźena.
Kuźniarski, Michał.
Orłowski, Ryszard.
Prejbisz, Andrzej.
Date: 2001.
In: Polish Polar Research. (2001.), Vol. 22(2) (2001)
Abstract: Bed is carbonate-dominated unit at base of Agardhfjellet Formation. It has been interpreted as oolitic limestone facies deposited during initial stage of Jurassic transgression. Petrographic and chemical data in this paper indicate that unit is not depositional limestone, but diagenetic cementstone band originating in organic-rich sediment. Episodes in its evolution are described.
