Abstract: Author expresses gratitude for Inge Kleivan's encouragement to seek connotations of features in myths and stories; her "Why is Raven Black?" tells of gloomy aspect of raven to Danes, while it signifies liveliness and cheerfulness to Greenlanders. Key idea is of "cultural constructs". Removing "wrong" clothing indoors can bring bad luck. Feet, therefore kamiks, represent hunting, sexuality/reproduction and magic. Examples are given.
