Record #157758:
Operational sea-ice and sea surface temperature analyses / Clive Jones.
Title: | Operational sea-ice and sea surface temperature analyses / Clive Jones. |
Author(s): | Jones, Clive. |
Date: | 2001. |
In: | Marine Observer. (2001.), Vol. 71(353) (2001) |
Abstract: | Describes importance of inclusion of sea ice together with sea surface temperature in model forecasts for overlying atmosphere. Sea-ice concentration is calculated using Special Sensor Microwave/Imager (SSM/I), processed by ocean modelling branch of National Centers for Environmental Prediction (NCEP), Washington, and mapped and downloaded every day to Met Office where they are interpolated to required model grid. Model is updated by these new analyses. |
Notes: | Marine Observer. Vol. 71(353) :131-133 (2001). |
Keywords: | 551.32 -- Glaciology. 551.326.1 -- Floating ice, distribution and movement. 551.326.7 -- Sea ice. 551.5 -- Meteorology. 551.526 -- Water surface, temperature. 519.673 -- Modelling. E6 -- Glaciology: floating ice. |
