Title: Studies of the common eider breeding in the municipality of Avanersuaq (Thule), north-west Greenland / Kim Diget Christensen, Knud Falk.
Author(s): Christensen, Kim Diget.
Falk, Knud.
Date: 2001.
In: Polar Research. (2001.), Vol. 20(1) (2001)
Abstract: Late in summers of 1997 and 1998, surveys of Somateria mollissima were conducted, setting improved baseline for population studies. 3800 nests were counted, guessing population, including two inaccessible colonies, at c. 5000 pairs. Average clutch size suggests favourable conditions in area. Local stability contrasts with declines in other parts of Greenland.
