Record #157634:

Hydrography in the north-western Barents Sea, July-August 1996 / Terje Brinck Løyning.

Title: Hydrography in the north-western Barents Sea, July-August 1996 / Terje Brinck Løyning.
Author(s): Løyning, Terje Brinck.
Date: 2001.
In: Polar Research. (2001.), Vol. 20(1) (2001)
Abstract: CTD profiles were analysed and compared with former results. Barotropic and baroclinic modes of Rossby radius of deformation were estimated. Cold halocline water is found in southern part of area, so is probably produced around Storbanken, not closer to shelf break further north. Tides and vertical currents may explain northward transport of warmer water across sills and banks.
Notes:

Polar Research. Vol. 20(1) :1-12 (2001).

Keywords: 551.46 -- Oceanography, physical.
551.465.4 -- Oceanography, stratification.
C -- Oceanography, hydrography and hydrology.
(*3) -- Arctic regions.
(*686) -- Barents Sea.
