Record #157367:

Evidence against dust-mediated control of glacial-interglacial changes in atmospheric CO₂ / B.A. Maher, P.F. Dennis.

Title: Evidence against dust-mediated control of glacial-interglacial changes in atmospheric CO₂ / B.A. Maher, P.F. Dennis.
Author(s): Maher, B. A.
Dennis, P. F.
Date: 2001.
In: Nature. (2001.), Vol. 411(6834) (2001)
Abstract: Examines timing of dust fluxes to North Atlantic Ocean in relation to climate records from Vostok ice core, Antarctica about 130 kyr ago (penultimate glaciation), finding dust peaks at 155 kyr and 130 kyr ago, though not associated with CO₂ rise shown in Vostok ice core. Concludes that iron fertilisation carried by dust to Southern Ocean was not significant influence on atmospheric CO₂ at end of penultimate glaciation.
