Abstract: Principal objectives of workshop were to: 1. identify types of cumulative environmental impacts that could possibly result from this type of tourist operation; 2. review on-going research and monitoring programmes to determine whether they are likely to be able to detect possible cumulative adverse effects before they reach significant levels; and 3. describe changes in existing research and monitoring programmes or additional programmes that would be required to detect cumulative adverse effects before significant levels are reached.
