Abstract: Study of Saami myth of proposal as told in "The son of the sun's courting journey to the land of the giants", written down by Anders Fellner in 1873. Article describes yoik form of story. Many items and characters come in threes: goddesses, wind knots, questions, trunks, brothers of giantess. Symbolism of giantess's journey as marriage, conception and childbirth is explained.
