Record #156151:

Flugzeuggestützte Topographie- und Schweremessung: Messsystem und Anwendung auf die Region Framstrasse, Spitsbergen und Nordöstgrönland / Tobias Boebel.

Title: Flugzeuggestützte Topographie- und Schweremessung: Messsystem und Anwendung auf die Region Framstrasse, Spitsbergen und Nordöstgrönland / Tobias Boebel.
Translated title: Airborne topography and gravimetry: system and application to Fram Strait, Svalbard and North-east Greenland.
Author(s): Boebel, Tobias.
Date: 2000.
Language: German.
In: Berichte zur Polarforschung = Reports on Polar Research. (2000.), Vol. 366 (2000)
Abstract: Paper describes new methods which are compared to GPS-ground truth, shipborne, TOPEX/Poseidon- and ERS2-satellite altimetry, tide gauges and hydrographic models. Relative error is less than 5 cm. Absolute errors are influenced by drift errors of navigation solution, which can be as large as 0.1 m per 100 km. Resulting datasets supply lack of geophysical information, including those due to 81.75 deg.N limit for satellites, suggesting interpretations of several open questions. Trend of Eurasian and Greenland plate boundary is for first time clearly shown. Lena Trough has to be seen now as 3 spreading centres and 2 strike-slip faults. Connection between Greenland Sea and Arctic Basin is described, with comments on gravity anomalies before Chron 13.
