| Abstract: | Shows difficulties in trying to answer questions on fungal species from public's 'phone calls. Pleurotus was found on Populus tremula. It is rare in Norway, and studied material did not comply fully with descriptions in literature of either P. Dryinus or P. calyptratus. It is pointed out that P. dryinus should be studied in depth, as it is suspected of being either taxon of large intraspecific variation, or aggregate species. Particular attention should be paid to specimens growing on poplars. |
