Record #155925:

Summer temperature profiles within supraglacial debris on Khumbu Glacier, Nepal / H. Conway, L.A. Rasmussen.

Title: Summer temperature profiles within supraglacial debris on Khumbu Glacier, Nepal / H. Conway, L.A. Rasmussen.
Author(s): Conway, H.
Rasmussen, L. A.
Date: 2000.
Publisher: Wallingford, Oxfordshire: IASH Press
In: Debris-covered glaciers : proceedings of an international workshop held at the University of Washington in Seattle, Washington USA, 13-15 September 2000. (2000.),
Abstract: Describes variations in temperature within supraglacial debris on Khumbu Glacier, Nepal in summer. Surface temperatures were up to 35°C higher than air temperature, with solar radiative flux dominating energy transfer. Thicker debris reduced ice melt considerably.
