Abstract: | Describes variations in temperature within supraglacial debris on Khumbu Glacier, Nepal in summer. Surface temperatures were up to 35°C higher than air temperature, with solar radiative flux dominating energy transfer. Thicker debris reduced ice melt considerably. |
