Abstract: Describes morphology and sedimentology of landforms in moraine-mound complex from Younger Dryas of Cwm Idwal, North Wales. Demonstrates that englacial thrusting model developed for polythermal glaciers in Svalbard fits available evidence. suggest thrusting resulted from longitudinal compression against reverse bedrock slope, though frozen snout, downglacier of sliding ice may also have been trigger. Englacial thrusting model may find future applications.
