Record #155456:

Laboratory investigations of the strength, static hydraulic conductivity and dynamic hydraulic conductivity of glacial sediments / Bryn Hubbard, Alex J. Maltman.

Title: Laboratory investigations of the strength, static hydraulic conductivity and dynamic hydraulic conductivity of glacial sediments / Bryn Hubbard, Alex J. Maltman.
Author(s): Hubbard, Bryn.
Maltman, Alex J.
Date: 2000.
Publisher: London: Geological Society
In: Deformation of glacial materials. (2000.),
Abstract: Reports on how effective pressure and deformation influence hydraulic conductivity of glacial sediments with examples from Switzerland and Wales. Finds hydraulic conductivity is inversely related to effective pressure, particularly below about 100 kPa. Results of dynamic testing showed repeated pattern of sample failure, often with decrease in hydraulic conductivity. Also gave strongly linear relationships between effective pressure and yield stress at failure, quite consistent with Mohr-Coulomb type model.
