Record #155425:

Structural styles and deformation fields in glaciers: a review / Michael J. Hambrey, Wendy Lawson.

Title: Structural styles and deformation fields in glaciers: a review / Michael J. Hambrey, Wendy Lawson.
Author(s): Hambrey, Michael J.
Lawson, Wendy.
Date: 2000.
Publisher: London: Geological Society
In: Deformation of glacial materials. (2000.),
Abstract: Reviews current knowledge in structural glaciology, using concepts of structural geology, particularly strain analysis of deformed rocks. Though analysis shows many structures develop in response to complex strain environments, strain does not necessarily result in generation of structures. Points to future use of three-dimensional numerical modelling in interpreting and predicting deformation histories and structural development.
