Record #155238:

Frozen soil barriers for explosives containment / Gils M. Marion, Deborah K. Pelton.

Title: Frozen soil barriers for explosives containment / Gils M. Marion, Deborah K. Pelton.
Author(s): Marion, Gils M.
Pelton, Deborah K.
Date: 2000.
In: ERDC/CRREL Technical Report. (2000.), TR-00-19 (2000)
Abstract: Tests efficacy of frozen barriers to restrain movement of RDX, TNT and picric acid through soils, attempts leaching soils above frozen barrier, and compares mobility and stability of explosives in contaminated soils. 44-56% of picric acid was recovered by water extractions from contaminated soil. 88% of TNT added in aqueous solution to clean soil had disappeared after 3 months.
