Foraging location and range of white-chinned petrels Procellaria aequinoctialis breeding in the South Atlantic / Simon D. Berrow, Andrew G. Wood, Peter A. Prince.
Title: | Foraging location and range of white-chinned petrels Procellaria aequinoctialis breeding in the South Atlantic / Simon D. Berrow, Andrew G. Wood, Peter A. Prince. |
Author(s): | Berrow, Simon D. Wood, Andrew G. Prince, Peter A. |
Date: | 2000. |
In: | Journal of Avian Biology. (2000.), Vol. 31(3) (2000) |
Abstract: | Describes foraging range of white-chinned petrels from South Georgia during incubation and chick-rearing periods, and identifies main feeding areas at both times and relates these to prey acquisition. Includes data on duration of foraging trip, distance covered, and minimum mean velocity; individual foraging behaviour; foraging location; dispersal after breeding failure; and effects of PTT transmitters on white chinned petrels. |
