The thermal regime of a retrogressive thaw slump near Mayo, Yukon Territory / C.R. Burn.
Title: | The thermal regime of a retrogressive thaw slump near Mayo, Yukon Territory / C.R. Burn. |
Author(s): | Burn, C. R. |
Date: | 2000. |
In: | Canadian Journal of Earth Sciences. (2000.), Vol. 37(7) (2000) |
Abstract: | Seeks to determine rate of permafrost degradation in large thaw slump. Compares ground temperatures at sites in slump, where permafrost is degrading, with temperatures in undisturbed terrain nearby. Comments on nature of heat flow leading to permafrost degradation. Describes aggrading permafrost conditions in older thaw slump in same area where forest community has been re-established. |
Notes: | Canadian Journal of Earth Sciences. Vol. 37(7) :967-981 (2000). |
