Glaciological reconstruction of the Laurentide ice sheet: physical processes and modelling challenges / Shawn J. Marshall, Lev Tarasov, Garry K.C. Clarke, W. Richard Peltier.

Title: Glaciological reconstruction of the Laurentide ice sheet: physical processes and modelling challenges / Shawn J. Marshall, Lev Tarasov, Garry K.C. Clarke, W. Richard Peltier.
Author(s): Marshall, Shawn J.
Tarasov, Lev.
Clarke, Garry K. C.
Peltier, W. Richard.
Date: 2000.
In: Canadian Journal of Earth Sciences. (2000.), Vol. 37(5) (2000)
Abstract: Summary in French. Models Laurentide ice sheet evolution through glacial cycle, exploring glaciological mechanisms required to replicate geological and isostatic evidence which suggests thin and mobile Laurentide ice sheet relative to present-day Greenland and Antarctica. Concludes reconstruction only possible by invoking extremely deformable ice, widespread basal flow or paleoclimate-ice-sheet fluctuations which give last glacial maximum ice sheets that are far from equilibrium.
