Record #154396:

Permafrost in Iceland / Jón Skúlason.

Title: Permafrost in Iceland / Jón Skúlason.
Author(s): Skúlason, Jón.
Date: 2000.
Publisher: Norway :
In: Proceedings [of the] International Workshop on Permafrost Engineering, Longyearbyen, Svalbard, Norway, 18-21 June 2000. (2000.),
Abstract: Permafrost areas in Iceland are close to glaciers and above 500-600 m. Permafrost is thin and does not generally interfere with common engineering practice in constructing cottages and road tracks. Influence of permafrost on erosion on shoreline of reservoirs is calculated to be too thin and sporadic to affect its formation.
