Disposition and cellular binding of ³H-benzo(a)pyrene at subzero temperatures: studies in an aglomerular Arctic teleost fish - the polar cod (Boreogadus saida) / K. Ingebrigtsen, J.S. Christiansen, Ö. Lindhe, I. Brandt.

Date: | 2000. |
In: | Polar Biology. (2000.), Vol. 23(7) (2000) |
Abstract: | Disposition of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon in juvenile and sexually mature polar cod was studied by autoradiography. Locations of high tissue levels are described; only traces of radioactivity were in muscle, brain and gonads. No major differences were seen between males and females or between adults and juveniles. Gills seemed to be absorption sites in water. Diet caused little absorption. |
