Record #154311:

A two-dimensional time-dependent model of a wind-driven coastal polynya: application to the St. Lawrence Island polynya / M.A. Morales Maqueda, Andrew J. Willmott.

Title: A two-dimensional time-dependent model of a wind-driven coastal polynya: application to the St. Lawrence Island polynya / M.A. Morales Maqueda, Andrew J. Willmott.
Author(s): Morales Maqueda, M. A.
Willmott, Andrew J.
Date: 2000.
In: Journal of Physical Oceanography. (2000.), Vol. 30(6) (2000)
Abstract: Model, applied to seasonal and short-term variability of St Lawrence Island polynya, Bering Sea, combines and extends one-dimensional time-dependent and two-dimensional steady-state flux formulations for wind-driven coastal polynyas. Calculations allow for velocity at polynya edge and so its evolution. Shows two timescales and two spatial scales important in characterizing shape, size and evolution of polynya.
