Abstract: Studies relationships between ablation, air temperature and radiation using glacier mass-balance model on Glacier AX010 in Nepalese Himalayas, June-August 1978. Summer monsoon activity produces more cloud in July and August, so reducing incoming shortwave radiation and producing smaller monthly degree-day factors. Study indicates degree-day factor for snow ablation is larger at higher altitude.
