Abstract: 81 taxa from 30 soil samples from 5 vegetation types were observed. Most dominant diatoms are well known cosmopolitan aerophilic taxa. Valve lengths of Pinnularia borealis and Hantzshia amphioxys are correlated with soil moisture. In TWINSPAN classification, soils are separated except for Vaccineum soils, which group with both Cassiope and Salix soils. Relationships with organic content, pH, permafrost and moisture are described.
