Abstract: Question tackled is whether lemming cycles are driven by interaction with food suppply or with predators. Resource density curve has blunt peak while consumer density has sharp one. Statistical tests applied to lemming data and to cyclic vole data reveal blunt vole peaks but sharp lemming ones. So lemming cycles seem to depend on food, vole cycles on predators.
