| Abstract: | Field research defines postglacial emergence and reinterprets deglacial sequence. Tills described before were not found. Higher sea level may correlate with deglacial events stage 4 or 5 elesewhere on Svalbard. Marine limit occurs as escarpment or washing limit. Erratics from Nordaustlandet indicate northward flowing ice sheet during Late Weichselian. Hinge line lies c. 10 km northward. Offset of observed and modelled zones of zero emergence require better models. |
