Title: Magellan - Antarctic: ecosystems that drifted apart. Summary Review / Wolf E. Arntz.
Author(s): Arntz, Wolf E.
Date: 1999.
Abstract: Reviews present knowledge of biotic relationships between Magellan region and Antarctic, and outlines substantial problems remaining to be solved. Discusses hydrography and plankton in Magellan region; pelagobenthic coupling in Magellan region and comparison with Antarctic conditions; species richness, endemism and distribution of Antarctic and Magellan benthos; relationship between Magellan and Antarctic benthos in terms of structure, abundance and biomass; benthic invertebrate life cycles; and fish and seabirds. In special issue Magellan-Antarctic: ecosystems that drifted apart.
